Admission Notification for B. Architecture Courses - 2023

We are pleased to announce the admission notification for B. Architecture Courses for the academic session 2023 at Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), Jammu, and GCET Safapora, Ganderbal. The admission process is governed by the Jammu & Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination Act, 2002, and the Rules and Regulations therein, along with the JK Reservation Act, 2004, as amended by the Jammu & Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for the B. Architecture program, candidates must meet the following criteria:

1. Passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with either Chemistry or Biology or Technical Vocational subject or Computer Science or Information Technology or Informatics Practices or Engineering Graphics or Business Studies, with at least 45% marks in aggregate.

OR

Passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject, with at least 45% marks in aggregate.

2. The candidates need to qualify an aptitude test in architecture conducted either by the National Testing Agency (NTA) (i.e., JEE) or "NATA" conducted by the Council of Architecture.

Application Process: Interested candidates belonging to the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir/Ladakh must submit the Registration Cum Counselling Offline Form at J&K BOPEE office in Jammu/Srinagar between 07-08-2023 to 21-08-2023 (during working days). Along with the form, the following self-attested certificates are required:

1. Domicile Certificate of UT of J&K/UT of Ladakh (For Candidates of UT of Ladakh, ST certificate issued by the competent Authority of Ladakh shall be treated as Domicile Certificate).
2. Qualifying marks (12th class) certificate with relevant subjects/10+3 Diploma with Mathematics as a compulsory subject (whichever is applicable).
3. Score card of NATA 2023 or JEE 2023 or both, as the case may be.
4. Date of Birth (10th Marks card/Diploma issued by the Board).
5. Valid Reserved category certificate, if applicable.
6. Application Fee of Rs. 1200/= to be paid either through POS machine available at BOPEE office Jammu/Srinagar by debit/credit card.

Please note that the application form and required documents are provisional and subject to change(s) as per any order issued by the Government subsequently.

Important Instructions:

• No under process certificate will be accepted.
• Original Documents as mentioned above are required to be submitted in the concerned Institution at the time of Admission.

Mode of Selection/Admission: There are tentatively 80 seats available for B. Architecture (40 seats at GCET, Jammu & 40 seats at GCET Safapora, Ganderbal, Kashmir). The selection will be based on Merit cum Preference as preferred by the candidates in their registration cum counselling form.

In the event of a tie between two or more candidates with the same score in NATA or JEE-Arch, the following criteria will be considered for resolving the tie:

1. Mathematics Marks scored in the 12th class examination.
2. Date of Birth (D.O.B) of the candidate.

Please remember that merely filling out the application form does not guarantee admission, and the Board reserves the right to accept or reject any application form found false at any stage.
