The Department of Geology, School of Sciences at Cluster University of Jammu is inviting applications from motivated and eligible Indian citizens for the position of Research Staff (Project Assistant) in a Science and Engineering Research Board - Core Research Grant (SERB-CRG), Govt. of India sponsored project.

Title of the Project: "Understanding the Proxy (In)coherence in Lake Basins from Varied Climatic Regimes - Implications for Paleoclimate Reconstruction"

Principal Investigator: Dr. Praveen Kumar Mishra (Department of Geology, School of Sciences, Cluster University of Jammu)

Co-principal Investigator: Dr. Anoop Ambili (Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, IISER-Mohali, Punjab)

Tenure: The project duration is 3 years, and the position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The initial tenure of the position will be for one year, with further extension based on performance.

Eligibility Criteria:

•     M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Earth Sciences/Environmental Studies with a minimum of 60% aggregate percentage or 6.5/10 CGPA from a recognized University.
•     Desirable: Experience in data analysis, limnology, and remote sensing.

Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 20,000/- per month + 16% HRA (as per DST/SERB rules).

Age Limit: The upper age limit is 32 years, and age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC as per Government rules.

Last Date for Receiving Applications: The last date for receipt of applications shall be 21 days from the date of publication in the newspaper.

Terms & Conditions:

•     Short-listed candidates will be called for an interview and intimated via email.
•     The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
•     No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
•     The selected candidate will have to work full-time on the project and may need to travel for fieldwork, as required.
•     The decision of the selection committee will be final and binding.
