Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) invites online applications from eligible candidates having domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for various non-teaching positions. Essential Qualifications: The essential qualifications for each post vary.

1. Accounts Assistant/Cashier - Graduate
    - Preference will be given to those having experience in
    any organization
    Note: Candidates selected for the post of Accounts
    Assistant/Cashiers shall have to undergo a training
    course for one year (comprising theoretical training for
    six months and practical training for six months) during
    which they shall be paid a stipend of <6,000/- per month.
    After completion of one-year training, they shall be
    granted Pay Band of <5,200-20,200 with Grade Pay of
    <2,800 (unrevised). During the probation period, they
    must qualify the ACC examination within the prescribed
    period; failing which, their future increments shall be
    stopped until they pass the requisite examination.
2. Stenographer - Graduate
    - Shorthand speed of 50 words and typing speed of 30
    words per minute
    - Six months certificate course in computer applications
    from a recognized institute
    Note: Type Test shall be conducted only on a computer
    keyboard.
3. Female Nurse - 10+2 (Science Group) with Diploma in Nursing & 3 years'
    experience in nursing from a Govt. Hospital/recognized
    nursing home
4. Draftsman - 2 years Diploma in Draftsman course
5. Data Entry Operator - Graduation with one year Diploma in computer software
    application
    -OR-
    - BSc (IT)/BCA
    -OR-
    - Three years Diploma in Computer Application/Software
    application from an AICTE recognized institution
6. Assistant-cum-Typist/ - Graduate from any recognized University
  Dispatch/Receipt/ - Having knowledge of type writing, having not less than
  Stationery/Store Clerk and 35 words speed per minute
  equivalent Ministerial - Having six Months Certificate Course in computer
  posts application from a recognized Institute
    Note: Type test shall be conducted only on a computer
    keyboard.
7. Audio-Visual Operator - 10+2 with Degree or Diploma (minimum 2 years) from any
    Govt. recognized institute in any of the stream i.e.
    Electronics and Communication/Instrumentation/
    Electronic Mechanics/Information Technology and
    Electronics System Maintenance/Instrument Mechanics
    - 2 years' experience as an Audio-Video equipment
    technician or relevant trade from a Govt./Semi-Govt./
    University/Autonomous Bodies
8. Sound Man - Degree/Diploma in Sound Recording/Sound Engineering or
    equivalent from a recognized University/Institute
9. Electrician - Matric
    - ITI Diploma in the concerned trade
10. Classifier-cum-Cataloguer - Matric with a certificate course in Library Science
    - Desirable: Graduate in Science
11. Technician (Farms/Lab/Clinics) - 10+2 (Science group) with 50% marks (relaxable to 40%
    for reserved categories) preferably with one year's
    training from a recognized Veterinary/Animal Husbandry
    Institute -OR- B.Sc
12. Technician (Farms/Lab) - TDC part-I (10+2) Science group with 50% marks
    (relaxable to 40% for reserved categories) preferably
    with one year's training from a recognized institute of
    Agriculture/Horticulture & allied fields -OR- B.Sc
13. Works Supervisor (Civil) - ITI trained in the respective trade -OR- 10+2 with two
    years' experience of trade -OR- Matric with five years'
    experience of trade
14. Carpenter - Matric pass
    - ITI Diploma in the trade
15. Driver - Matric
    - Valid Driving License (Heavy passenger Motor Vehicle)
    (The post of Driver also includes Tractor Driver and
    the duties of the post shall also include driving Farm
    Machinery/Farm Equipment's/Farm Earth-moving machines
    etc.)

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2023):

  • General Category: Maximum age of 40 years
  • SC/ST/RBA/ALC/IB/PSP/EWS: Maximum age of 43 years
  • Physically Challenged Person: Maximum age of 42 years
  • Government Service / Contractual Employment: Maximum age of 40 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: As per rules (with deduction of service period from actual age)

Application Fee:

  • General Category: Rs. 1000/- per application
  • SC/ST/PwD/EWS: Rs. 700/- per application

Note: The fee can be paid only through Net Banking, Credit, and Debit Card.

Domicile and Reservation: Candidates must possess a valid Domicile Certificate issued by the Competent Authority as defined in the notifications issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, and the General Administration Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir.

Reservation for different categories will be as per the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Rules-2005.

Appointment and Other Conditions: The appointment and other service conditions will be governed as per the extant rules/regulations of SKUAST-J and JKCSR.

Candidates claiming reservation must possess valid category certificates as of the cutoff date.

Important Instructions to the candidates:

  1. Application Mode: All candidates must submit their applications through the University website www.skuast.org. No other means or mode of application will be accepted.

  2. Cut-off Date: The eligibility for the post will be determined as of the last date of application. Any qualification or experience acquired after this date will not be considered.

  3. Rejection of Applications: Incomplete or incorrect applications will be summarily rejected. No representation against such rejection will be entertained.

  4. Selection Process: The selection for most posts will be based on a written test. However, for posts where a Skill Test is prescribed, it will be of qualifying nature only.

  5. Notification and Updates: All important information and updates regarding the recruitment process will be available on the University website www.skuast.org.

  6. Finality of Information: The information/details submitted by the candidates during the application process will be treated as final for determining eligibility and category. No claims in this regard will be entertained later.

  7. Eligibility Verification: Original certificates and testimonials must be produced by the candidates at the time of document verification when notified by the University.

  8. Equivalence Certificate: Candidates claiming possession of equivalent educational qualifications must produce relevant Equivalence Certificates from designated competent authorities at the time of Document Verification.

  9. Distance Mode Education: Degrees/diplomas obtained through distance mode, as per Govt. Order No. 252-HE of 2012 dated 30.05.2012, will be entertained, subject to fulfillment of other terms and conditions.

  10. Fake Universities: Degrees obtained from Universities declared fake by the University Grants Commission will not be entertained.

  11. Canvassing: Any form of canvassing by candidates will lead to disqualification.

  12. Provisional Candidature: Candidature shall remain provisional until the genuineness of qualification/category certificates is verified by the university.

  13. Tentative Number of Posts: The number of posts mentioned in the advertisement is tentative and may change at the discretion of the university during appointment.

  14. Withdrawal of Posts: The University reserves the right to withdraw or defer filling up any or all posts advertised without assigning any reason.

  15. In-Service Candidates: In-service candidates should apply through their employer and must provide a "No Objection Certificate" during document verification.

  16. Multiple Applications: Candidates applying for more than one post must submit separate application forms with prescribed fees for each post.

  17. Misconduct: Candidates found indulging in irregularities/misconduct/malpractice at any stage of the selection process will be disqualified.

  18. Contact Information: Candidates must provide their personal mobile number and active email address for communication. The University will not be responsible for miscommunication due to incorrect contact details.

  19. Travel Allowance: No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for participating in the test.

  20. Admit Cards: Admit cards for the examination will be available the official website www.skuast.org. Candidates must carry a printed copy of the admit card and a valid photo ID proof to the examination hall.

  21. Jurisdiction: In case of disputes, legal proceedings will be restricted to the courts in Jammu, UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
