Applications are invited for the post of Assistant Industrial Adviser in the Department of Chemical & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemical & Fertilizer. The vacancy is permanent and falls under General Central Service Group- “A” Gazetted, Non-Ministerial category. The selected candidate will be placed in Level-10 in the Pay Matrix as per the 7th CPC. The details of the vacancy are as follows:
Position: Assistant Industrial Adviser

Pay Scale: Level-10 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC
Age Limit: 35 years for URs
Educational Qualifications:
(A) Master’s Degree:
- Master’s Degree in any branch of chemistry (excluding bio-chemistry) from a recognized University or Institution.
- One year of experience in Chemical or Petrochemical in Central Government/ State Government/ Union Territory Administrations/ Public Sector Undertakings/ Universities/ Recognized Research Institutions/ Semi-Government or Autonomous Bodies/ Statutory Organizations/ Listed Private Sector Organizations/ Corporate Entities listed on the recognized stock exchanges of the country/ companies with public shareholding dealing with Chemicals or Petrochemicals.
OR
(B) Bachelor’s Degree:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical engineering or Chemical Technology from a recognized University or Institution.
- Two years of experience in Chemical or Petrochemical in Central Government/ State Government/ Union Territory Administrations/ Public Sector Undertakings/ Universities/ Recognized Research Institutions/ Semi-Government or Autonomous Bodies/ Statutory Organizations/ Listed Private Sector Organizations/ Corporate Entities listed on the recognized stock exchanges of the country/ companies with public shareholding dealing with Chemicals or Petrochemicals.
Note: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Duties: The Assistant Industrial Adviser will be responsible for matters related to the Indian Petrochemicals & Chemical industry and various international conventions in which India is a participant. Duties include examining Industrial License approvals, 100% Export-oriented cases, proposals for foreign collaborations and FDI cases, trade-related issues, concessional rates of Customs Duty under Project Imports, and input-output norms related to Chemical & Petrochemical sectors.

(a) BASIS OF SELECTION:
- On the basis of Desirable Qualification (DQ) or any one or all of the DQs if more than one DQ is prescribed.
- On the basis of higher educational qualifications than the minimum prescribed.
- On the basis of higher experience in the relevant field than the minimum prescribed.
- By counting experience before or after the acquisition of essential qualifications.
- By invoking experience even in cases where there is no experience mentioned either as Essential Qualification (EQ) or as Desirable Qualification (DQ).
- By holding a Recruitment Test. Generally, weightage in the ratio of 75:25 is accorded for marks in Recruitment Test and for marks in the interview in determining final merit.

- No fee for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates.
- Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstance.

- Age relaxation for Ex-Servicemen, Commissioned Officers, and Central Government employees.
- Age relaxation to Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) along with the facility of a scribe for candidates appearing in Recruitment Tests/Computer Based Recruitment Tests.

ACTION AGAINST CANDIDATES FOUND GUILTY OF MISCONDUCT:
Candidates furnishing false information or engaging in any misconduct during the selection process will face disqualification, criminal prosecution, and other penalties.
